Tackling alcohol related ASB
The Community Safety Partnership has a number of tools at its disposal to tackle alcohol related ASB across Swale, perhaps the most powerful of these is the Alcohol Control Zone.
We currently have such zones in place, in Faversham; Sittingbourne; Sheerness and Leysdown.
An Alcohol Control Zone is put in place after extensive public consultation and community feedback, to ensure the correct area is selected.
Once in place, Street Wardens, Community Wardens and PCSO's all have the right to confiscate alcohol from any individual behaving in an anti-social manner whilst within the zone - and ask them to leave/remove them from, the area for a period of time.
This order will not affect you if you are drinking responsibly in a public place.
